Introduction

In order to become a global entertainment corporation on par with global music corporations such as Universal Music Group, Sony Music, Warner, etc, SM group is driven to become a major music label and acquired Woollim Entertainment as its first outside label in October of 2013.

Through this acquisition, SM Group will maximize the synergy effects with the artists of Woolim Entertainment including Infinite, Nell, and Tasty and create new music genres and various artists.

Henceforth, Woollim Entertainment will keep their individuality in musical integrity and will continue to produce a variety of artists and musicians, creating a synergy effect through its close cooperation with S.M.Entertainment, S.M.C&C and global affiliates.

A label is a field of music business for which rights to independent artist casting, planning and producing is granted, with each producer given the rights to produce creatively. In the business aspect, Artist/Music producing rights are entitled to the label itself, while distribution, circulation, enterprising, etc. will be provided through SM Group’s networks, providing a synergy effect.
